Finding the right deal, the right target, or the right capital allocator starts with finding it fast, and finding opportunities others miss. That’s what we built the new Alternatives.pe for.
In this session, our team walks through the V3 platform and runs through five real use cases: sourcing an early-stage AI startup, identifying a growth-stage acquisition target, screening companies by firmographics, finding investors for a portfolio company’s next raise, and identifying strategic LPs for a fund.
What’s new in V3
The platform is organised around a set of Explorers – Companies, Equity Investors, Debt Investors, Limited Partners, Funds, Deals & Transactions, Events, and People. Each come with customisable columns, sorting, and filters, plus profile pages built for the specific type of entity you’re looking at (company, investor, fund, or LP).
All of it is sourced directly from regulatory filings across Southeast Asia and Australia, including transactions that were never publicly announced.

How Fund Managers, LPs and Investment teams can use the platform
1. Sourcing an Early-Stage AI Startup
We look at an example where a VC firm is looking for an early stage (Pre-Seed to Series A) AI or robotics company, headquartered in Singapore. We also narrow our criteria down to where a specific Venture Capital firm is involved in an earlier round.
For this, we use the Deals Explorer to filter and narrow our shortlist from thousands of transactions down to a manageable list, in a few clicks.

2. Sourcing a Growth-Stage Acquisition target
Here’s an example of a Private Equity firm looking for a Singapore-based marketplace company that raised US$100M+ in the past two years.
We filter by deal size, date, geography, and sector in the Deals Explorer to surface companies, like ShopBack and PropertyGuru.

3. Screening Companies by Firmographics
Instead of starting from a deal, we can also screen target companies from the Companies Explorer directly.
In this use case, we cover 3 examples of how we might surface companies that are ready for investment:
- Mid-size education companies by revenue range
- Identifying PE-funded healthcare companies
- Finding Singapore companies that have been PE-backed for 5+ years and may be nearing an exit.

4. Finding Investors for a Portfolio Company’s next raise
Now, we move on to the Capital Allocators within the platform.
You can find them under the Equity Investor Explorer, Debt Investor Explorer and Limited Partner Explorer. In our new platform, we have integrated capital allocator profile which shows all their tracked investments and preferences across the roles they play.
In this example, we take you through how a VC fund manager can help a FinTech portfolio company identify relevant investors for its next round.
We use the Equity Investor Explorer to filter by sector, ticket size, and stage to surface investors like Jungle Ventures, complete with their tracked and preferred investments, average cheque size and performance of their portfolio companies.

5. Finding Strategic Limited Partners for a Fund
Lastly, we cover a use case where a GP or Investment Relations (IR) team may be looking for LPs with mandate for a FinTech-focused fund.
Using the Limited Partner Explorer to filter by sector interest and commitment activity, we identify active LPs and trace their existing fund manager relationships.

Why our data is different
We source every data point directly from regulatory filings, rather than web crawling or opt-in submissions. These include company registries, securities filings, and equivalent bodies across each market we cover.
That means:
- Broader coverage: 375,000+ companies, 85,000+ deals, 6,000+ LPs and 3,000+ family offices across Southeast Asia and Australia.
- Transactions others miss: As filings capture deals that are not ever announced publicly, our coverage includes activity that doesn’t appear in press releases.
- Higher accuracy: Regulatory sourcing gives a materially more reliable dataset than platforms relying on web-scraped or self-reported data. For complete coverage, we also include self-reported deals, before filings are made available.
